Staff Architect (Tampa, Florida – Hybrid)

SK+I is a nationally recognized, award-winning architecture firm headquartered in Bethesda, MD.  We are now hiring candidates based in the Tampa, Florida area to fill a Staff Architect position.

This will require a hybrid schedule consisting of both in-office and remote work. This position will require travel to project construction sites in the Central Florida area and occasional travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, including to our headquarters in Bethesda, MD.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who will work directly with our Principals, Project Managers, and all other levels of staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years’ experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Architecture degree is required.
  • Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • AutoCAD and REVIT proficiency is required.
  • Goals for LEED accreditation + Architectural registration are preferred.
  • Experience/interest in multifamily residential projects is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Perform duties as assigned by Project Architect and/or Project Manager. This may include duties normally performed by the Project Architect.
  • Assist and cooperate/coordinate with project consultants to ensure smooth and seamless design process.
  • Prepare coordinated design drawing sets.
  • Assist in preparation of marketing materials.
  • Write meeting minutes as directed by Project Manager/Architect.
  • Continually look for ways to accomplish projects more creatively and efficiently.

TECHNICAL & HOME OFFICE REQUIREMENTS  

  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and equipment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Outlook, and Word) required.
  • Web conferencing software (Microsoft Teams)
  • Computer hardware will be company issued
  • Must be able to provide:
    • A distraction-free workspace/environment
    • Space for a desktop computer with two monitors
    • Stable power source and internet connection:
      • Dedicated high-speed internet (minimum of 25 Mbps Upload and Download Speeds) and ethernet connection
      • Ability to ‘plug in’ your equipment to your Modem/router during work times.
